Recording artists First Kin provided live entertainment at a New Year's
eve bash held at the Starrville Church of the Living God's family life
center. The evenings festivities, the brainchild of Sis. Melissa
Williams, began with hors d'oeuvre, fellowship and semi-professional
photographs. The family life center was beautifully decorated by
Sis. Sharon and Brooke Williams. The tables were adorned with party
hats, streamers, purple and gray balloons, and "champagne"
glasses. The food served included hot wings, meatballs, little
smokies, fruit trays, and punch. The gospel singing group First
Kin, which includes Chris and Todd Williams, Brant Cooper, Stewart
Holmes, and Cedric Sharpe, provided a live concert. Their
performance included several familiar gospel songs and several of their
original numbers from there latest CD. The service concluded with
testimonials led by pastor Elder Gregory Williams.

Highlights Christmas Program
The annual Christmas Present to the Church was held at the
Starrville Church of the Living God on Sunday, December 16, 2002.
Superintendent Milton Timmons, pastor of the Hyder Chapel and the Rocky
Mound COGIC, was the guest speaker. The program also included the
Starrville Church of the Living God Adult choir and several guest choirs
and soloists. The program was highlighted with a hat
contest. The women of the church were encouraged to wear their
favorite hats and a panel of judges chose the best hat. The judges,
Bros. Chris Williams, Darren Richardson, and Dennis Randle, chose the hat
worn by Sis. Donna Timmons as the winner and Sis. Celestine Morgan as the
runner up. The church was also honored with presence of the First
Lady of the Church of the Living God, Sis. Billie Berry, and members of
the Dallas Church of the Living God. This annual program is
sponsored by Sis. Blaxsie Cross.
